WK Wild Kajaera Animals – Eating

One of the first things most will notice when they try WK Wild Kajaera Animals is that they are not grazers, they are meal/portion eaters. Which means their stats or portions on food only change twice a day. This will allow you to sit back and enjoy there antics. A few have asked when they eat? This is occurring at different times through out the day but will generally happen in the early to mid morning and early afternoon to evening hours in sl. Why the different times? Each Stat Hunger, Happy, Heat are calculated at separate times, the stats will go up after each one is effected.

BE WARNED —-

If you decide to start down the Breeding Path and get impatient and think stats are not going up as they should and breeding isn’t really set ( if you can see the happy and heat stat its really set ) DO NOT CLICK BREEDING OFF AND ON AGAIN.Regardless of how fast you are the server is faster. SL may hold on to the previous stat numbers but that will change the next meal cycle.

By clicking PET you set it back to a pet status instantly on the server. THIS WILL WIPE OUT ANY HEAT GAIN AND ANY HAPPY GAIN. Pets don’t have to worry about eating catnip or eating breeding food. Your stats should go up in happy 10 points every meal/portion and once it reaches 50 the heat will go up 10 points every meal/portion.

The quiet moments

These flowers match my eyes.

These flowers match my eyes.

While wondering the land checking on my animals I came across George resting so peacefully in the tall grass.  It is our hope here at the WK that you also will find these moments of peace in your sl world.

We had our first of many Q&A’s this last weekend over at HUNTRESS BREEDABLES and one of my favorite comments has to be when some said that they had given up on breedables but seeing all that our cats can do that they would have to give them a try.  Our cats are so life like that you forget that they are prims. It is a joy to watch and see what they will do next.

At the 5 o’clock Q&A we showed off the Cat Hang Out Tree being made in conjunction with Lilith and Dolly Heart of Heart Landscaping.  This tree is the first in what will be some wonderful additions to your landscape.

The tree has 3 spots the cats can hang out in.

The Birthing Process

As expecting keeper please be patient this can take up to 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Birthing stage one;
Mom lies down and gives you 20 minutes to come to be with her.

Stage two;
Mother starts to hiss at you, if all goes well she will lift her head and hiss 4 times on the 4th hiss you will see a birth sack.
Mother will still say expecting, because the birthing process is not finished.

Stage three;
In twenty minutes if your mother is finished delivering she will move to stage four. If your mother is to have a 2nd cub this process (stage two) will begin again. If your mother is to have a 3rd cub, in twenty minutes this process will begin again.

Stage four;
When she is completely finished delivering she will say she is tired and her hover text change from expecting. Her happy will drop to 50 and her heat is 0 and will continue as it did before.

Some baby cubs were not staying on breeding.
We cleared this and you should reset them to ‘breed on’
In some instances you may need to turn it off then back on.
Thank you for your great reports, and for spreading the word about WK- Wild Kingdom

Update 0.8.1

After talking with several BETA Testers the first week, we have decided to change the start age of breeding from 6 to 3. This will allow for the cats to gain happy points earlier. However, heat gain will still not start until the age of 6. But there will no longer be the 2.5 days of delay in waiting for happy to rise when the cat reaches the age of 6.

Additional animations have been added to this update: the most notable one is the ability to jump! The cat can now jump an obstacle in its path up to 1.5 m in height.

Update Released 1/14/2013

The first week of testing is over !  There have been some minor and one major change to the cats over the last week.  The update released to testers include the following fixes.

Major ~

Animations – Fixed keeping the cat to stay together as a whole unit. This improves fluidity in the movement of the cats.

Minor ~

Keeper – No longer is the owner allowed to set themselves to keeper. Keepers, on the other hand are allowed to have the cats they are assigned to, to follow them.

Added –

Touch response so you know when a animal has been touched and the menu is on its way.

Animations for drinking from second life water.

Teddy Bear recognition so that the cat can find and pick up and play with the teddy bear on thier own, as well as when the owner request it.

Retrieval code was added for the Magical Orb of Goodness.

Corrected the name return message from his nose to my nose so it is not gender based.

Corrected message response in keeper so that both keeper and owner get a response back.

Fixed poses in pregnancy (alphas have reported these) some bodies were out of alignment.

Fixed the sound track. We changed the number of times a cat will make a particular sound and added new ones for more variety.
The Beta Experience ~

The team has really been working hard to make it viable for the BETA Testers to undergo a cat experience as close to a finished product as possible. We have had only minor troubles reported. And we have received a lot of praises too.

Most like ~

The design of the foods and the automatic switch to breeding when the cats become of age. Then all you have to do is put out the grid-wide breeding food and catnip. Testers also praised the the pet button as an alternative of setting back to pet food.

And most just loved the way they follow in tune with the owner or the keeper’s movements: running, swimming or simply walking. The “follow” animations are a really natural and transitions from one move to another is really smooth.

The dust and water splashes have been a big hit as well.
