We are extremely excited about the revamp to the WK Wild Dogs (Wolves) and wanted to shed some light on where we are at.

Many of you may have heard that the wolves are getting a new feature of the ability to work with some of the role play huds. This will add in new animations for the animal such as a lunge attack, stalking and a bite.  The two systems that we will be working with are the Spell Fire system and the Gorean Meter system. All of the wolves not just the new ones will be able to help you hunt and track and attack when used in conjunction with those hud systems.

Not only are we adding the new feature to all of wild dogs (wolves) we are doing a bit of revamp to the genetics as well. Many have complained that too much came in too quickly and that the leg sets were impossible to get.  We have taken a look at both of these areas and have made adjustments.

We have also done a full system update that that has to do with the servers themselves and some of the language that they use.

With these three areas of revamp this is a major update and we feel that this sort of update is not one to let out with minor testing, which means that we will be doing a Wild Dog Beta and not one but actually will need 3 groups.  So here is what were looking for and if you feel that you can really do the time and have attention to detail and want to help us make The WK Wild Dogs best that they can be you may apply to be in one of the 3 Wild Dog Beta groups.

3 groups for the beta when applying make sure you meet these criteria:

If you are applying for the Genetic and Overall Operations Beta.

Must currently Breed the Wild Dogs – (would be best if you have had them for some time)

If you would like to apply for the Spell Fire Wild Dog Beta.

Must be familiar with the Spell Fire system.

If you would like to apply for the Gorean Meter (GM)

Must be familiar with the GM system.

Enjoy documenting what you see and reporting it. Have a positive attitude. A willingness to adapt to change and PATIENCE.

Each group will be limited to a small number.  If you wish to be considered please send a note card to QueenFelinea Resident.  Accepting applications until January 19.

As the new babies are birthed the mothers are very protective over them. They will generally stay close to the baby not moving off too far from them.  As the babies will grow and start to move if kept near mom they will follow her around much like they do in real life.

As we say goodbye to the year 2015 and hello to year 2016 both the wild dogs and the big cats will have some new eyes coming in.

First the cats following the tradition of the Horse Year 2014 Eye, from December 26 to the 31 randomly dropping in will be the Sheep Year 2015 Eye.  From the 31 to the 5th of January will randomly drop in the Monkey Year 2016.

Second the wild dogs have a lunar eye depicting the phase of the moon on the 1st day of each new year. They are truly wonderfully unique exclusive to the wild dogs. From the December 26 to the 31 we will see the Jan 1 2015 Randomly dropping in From the 31 to the 5th of January will be Jan 1 2016.

A few breeders have asked about the difference between a Limited Edition animal and a Collectors Edition animal and specifically about the difference in price.

First, a Limited Edition – When Developing this animal were making a one of fur not delving in and making a whole series of furs. This animal has one, two or perhaps even more traits that are rare that you may want to breed for but the fur does not pass. They always come with an exclusive eye.Their attraction is those traits and the overall look of the particular animal.

The Collectors Edition – With this they have an exclusive fur or, in some cases, a new breed that passes. These furs or breeds will not show up randomly. This is the case with the new WK Winter Festival Clouded Leopard. When working up this type of animal were creating a whole series of furs to come from the animal so it is quite different. The only way to get the Clouded Leopard breed is from these Collector’s Edition cats or their offspring via the secondary market. There will be more to uncover and discover with a CE that is introducing a new breed. Getting in on the ground floor of a new breed has tremendous value to breeders. Hence, the higher cost. The CEs may also have other exclusive traits that come from the animal and may not show up randomly.

Rarity, here at WK is calculated in several ways.  We have tried to blend set trait points with the true rarity of % points and even on some a % point with a bonus for being a extremely low number with in the % point.  Trying to make it as clear as possible what an animals trait count is at that very moment.  Moment being the key word, as new Breeds are introduced or new Species for that matter your trait points will be higher as there are very few out there. As more are produced the numbers will shuffle and some will fall. This is more noticeable in the beginning and levels off rapidly so it doesn’t change as much once the breed/species is established.

The Winter Festival Big Cat

Introducing the new WK Winter Festival Collector’s Edition Clouded Leopard. This amazing cat features Prehistoric teeth and the new Christmas Eve eye. It’s also packing a brand new ear you can breed for, the mega-sized “Batty” ear. While these new traits are exciting however, that’s not the most exciting part. In case you hadn’t noticed, this cat introduces a brand new breed of leopards…Clouded leopards…and this new breed ONLY comes from this cat and will not show up randomly. The beautiful Tumpat-GreyNose fur passes as a Exclusive Fur and will not be randomly introduced and there are other new furs to discover as you build up this new breed.

Winter Festival Wild Dog

Brand new for the WK Winter Festival and just in time for the holiday season is the new LE Timber Wolf. The LE Timber Wolf has the new and exclusive “Winter Awakening” eyes plus Fangs, Paw tongue, Floppy ears and Moonlight Glow! The fur does not pass and Ho Ho Ho !!! is not a complete leg set and will not pass Extra Large scale. The parents in the background of this wolf also has some furs that have yet to be found that will pass. This is a must have for any wolf breeder’s pack!

Did you know that somewhere between 75-80% of all cats on the grid have Natural teeth? Trying to get something other than Natural teeth on your cats can help set your cats apart from the crowd.

Some teeth are unlocked at various levels and will randomly show up when you level up or down at the appropriate levels. Fangs, Single Fang, Snaggle and Baby Teeth are all examples of that. That’s great but remember since they are random drops they are not destined to stay rare for a long time and as breeders we all want something rare in our cats.

If you are looking for something rarer that will stay that way, consider Sabertooth, Prehistoric, Long Tooth Single Fang, Broken Tooth and Crooked Tooth. These teeth are often over looked by breeders, especially the newer breeders, because they are not new. However, these teeth are rarer and are limited. None of the five are available as random drops but have come from various Sanctuary, Limited Edition and Collector’s Edition Cats and the only way to get them is from these special cats or through the secondary market. In the long-term, they will always be rarer than any teeth that show up randomly and because of that and the fact that their visual impact is striking, they add value to your pride.

This is NOT a mandatory update 2.2.75 it fixes a few bugs probably unnoticed by you AND it makes alllll the marvelous new toys work on the cats annnd the slippery ice.

Best practice of course is to have both sacks and cats updated to the current version.  You may do this in your own time.  MOOG has the current version of the updater.  The individual and the by species versions of the animals.  This is NOT a food update.  This is for your cats and your cat sacks.  It will not harm a pregnancy in anyway shape or form to MOOG a pregnant MOM to be or a Dad to be.
