If you had updated the Happy Teddy Bears in this last weekends update and reported an issue with them not showing the assigned name. Please update them again this has been fixed and your Bears now will show the name to which cat they are feeding Happy too.

With the settling on a trait count one we really feel we can grow with as a company and as a community it was time to update the calculator.  This is a few step process but the first of which is completed and that was to fix the few calculations that were not calculating right on the eye.

The calculation done now for traits are based on the Species (so for those that have asked if you are successful in getting a tiger eye on a cougar for example it will show more rare thus giving you your bonus). This will allow you to see the rarity based on a single species rather then on all the cats.

It is our goal to also add the calculation of the traits to the rarity calculator so that the process becomes even simpler. Stay tune we will let you know how as the process continues to unfold and to make it as pain free as possible.

Well yesterday was a ground breaking day for sure Jaed and I (Kay/ Queen) spent much of the day in conversation with a lot of you who had concerns and questions. It was like a great brainstorming session to us and while yes the Vote is in favoring the Newer system Jaed and My self and Random feel that there may be a better way yet to bring it all together and bring back the balance that we had.

The team has decided that a hybrid of sorts is what is needed and this WK Trait Guide is the result.

This Guide gives a base line to the cats as well as balancing out the Ear and Eye area giving benefit for new Eyes and Ears as they are unlocked. We really feel that it needs no explanation on how it gets figured and is pretty clear in its design so with no further delay. . . . . . . . .

Writing this post to help you all understand why the change was made to how cat traits are counted. Traits are like a guide to help you determine value and huge part of the value should come from rarity. If a item is rare and hard to find it should be of more value. In other breedables it is very hard to know how many of anything is out there other then lots of hours spent trolling the markets to see if others have something just like you.  We provided you all with the rarity calculator which was hard to understand what the value was because you had nothing to measure it with.  Now we have added the conversion on to it and your able to see how rarity can effect traits.

We know were asking you to change your way of thinking and this is not easy to do but we have been asking you to change your way of thinking since the beginning. We are not trying to upset you we are trying to ask you to look at this with a open mind and to see that yes with a little bit of work you will be able to have a much better system to understand the value a cat has especially when compared to all the cats out there by its same species.

So lets take a look at the new way off how to figure out a cat rarity.

This is a randomly selected cat choose in from the most recent cats born it is a Jaguar so also one of the large groups of cats out there.

Looking at the new WK Rarity and Trait Guide chart we can go through this one step at a time.

Start in the lower right hand corner and we look at Breed and we have a 67 % on breed so this cat does not get the 1 point trait for being a new breed.

Fur this you will need to look at the cat to gets its Level being that most of you judge the fur based on its level we did not want to change this on you. This cats fur level is level 6 so this cat gets a Fur Trait count of 2.

Then looking for the stats that fall under 71 and we see that the eyes are 17 % and they are the same and a original from the Jaguar so we will count them one time at a trait of 4.

The ears are also different so this means we get to look at the counter twice once for each ear. The right cupped ear is a value of 17 % and that gets a conversion of 4 traits. Where the left ear gets a trait count of 2 because 46 % of the ears are this way.

These are now the count able traits

Fur 2

Eyes 4

Right Ear 4

Left Ear 4

For a grand total of 14 traits.

Does this mean that all cats have moved up in the base trait counting yes will they cap out at 22 no. If you read over this chart you can see what types will fall under each section and you can see a few have been added. Will we continue to add traits to the cats YES as they grow the more traits will be needed to make it continue to be fun for you to unlock more and exciting cats.

We felt that the traits needed away to grow with us and to work with you at building a strong more stable market.  After all we want you to feel that you have a market you can depend on. Making this change now after giving you a period of time to see that the old counting way just really didn’t fit us because we had new traits to ad to be counted and where did they go and what was of more value then the others. Basing your value on a combination of rarity and traits really is the smart way to keep a strong market.

It if you missed the noticed yesterday the WK Funky Fish have an update.  Gather your fishes up place them in a box with your name and Funky Fish on it and send it to QueenFelinea and we will get updated fish out to you.

The reason for the update

~ we had gotten reports that the cats ignored them when asked to fish they will still decide when they will fish but will respond more often when asked.

~ fish stopped swimming around after a sim restart and seem not to ever come back to life.

Happy to report that these issues of uninterested and lifelessness have been fixed.

Anyone looking at this picture would think that this is a very spoiled cat but as far as the cat knows they are just very LOVED. The owner says the toys were all over the sim in moments.

We are  sorry to say that we have had to do away with passing of animals. This is sad to say that there have been a few situation where this was a issue and some were able to sell cats more then once.

To sell a cat now to get the owner ship to transfer the person must buy it using the SL buy method.

We realize that this is not so fun for some but really for the community it is much better.  The Team is here to assist you as we change over. PLEASE make sure your cats are 1.2.0 and your sacks are 1.8.1. If your mothers give you a sack that is anything else but 1.8.1 you want to update her and any sack.

With the over whelming response and the shock and the horror

We have put the code back to the way it was,  it has the added security that it is suppose just not so tight that you cant pass cats.  Not realizing how many people used the SL Marketplace to sell ads. or to give cats to there friends.

The support and love that we are getting from all of our wonderful breeders has been amazing.  The concert last night at the Speeds Big Cats Oasis was awesome and we hope that many more will join us at the rest of the events that are planned tomorrow Sunday the 7/28/2013 our actual 6 months for release date.

As we are in the middle of our celebration we have a web update for you. This is not at cat update you don’t need to do anything with your cat in the way of updating them they are already waiting for this part of the web update if you have the version 1.2.0.  For some time now we have been working on a way to list your cat for sale on the portal and make it easy for you to manage that when the cat is sold your listing is automatically removed. Sounds pretty cool? We thought so. This is a feature that as it grows and becomes more popular you will get more out of it.  It is ready for you to use the only thing it is missing at this point is YOU the User to list your cats. 

When you log into the Portal the dashboard now has 3 new buttons located on the right hand side and the ancestry  button that you all use is located on the lower left hand side.

Your 3 three new buttons are;

Search Classifieds ~ pretty clear here you can put in no preferences and search all that is listed by clicking “Search” or you can use the pull down to try to narrow your search at the beginning of course this will be pretty empty.

My Classified Ads ~ again this is pretty much what you have listed in the search area.

This area will allow you to edit the ad by double clicking on it and bringing up a edit window.

Here you can manually remove any animal from the search if you have decided not to sell it after all.  If you decide to not sell simply highlight the row and hit the trashcan it will ask you if you want to delete the record if you really want to remove the record from search hit the ok button.

Add Classified Ad ~ this is where you select an animal for listing and great the listing.

The drop down will show you everything you have sacks and cats alike. You may use the Location Notes as a Header in a notice it will be seen in the search section.  You will need to be able to open the SL map and copy the SLURL to the the TP to URL space.
